Start point is on the hairpin bend near Blaen-Pennant (SH905214).
We follow the green track up into Ceunant y Briddell and then cut
across to Foel Hafod-fynydd. Then down towards Creiglyn Dyfi (source
of the Dyfi) and a long climb up the grassy bank of Erw y Ddafad-ddu to
the main Aran ridge. We go south to the summit, then curve round over
Drysgol and down to the road via the waterfall of Pistyll Gwyn.
It's not a high mileage or technical walk, but there's a fair
amount of ascent - from 200 to 900 metres - so it's likely to take us
around 6 to 7 hours. This is a remote and impressive circuit over the
highest hill in Wales south of Snowdon.
