Starting at SH 685 303, we
walk up towards the Roman Steps, then cut off past Llyn Du to Rhinog
Fawr. There's a long, steep and rocky descent to Bwlch Drws Ardudwy,
then a climb up to Llyn Hywel, over Rhinog Fach and back down to the
BDA and out.
The recce gave us
magnificent views north to Snowdon, south to Cader and west over the
sea; it also caused me to regrade the walk from B to B/A, on account
of the steep and rocky descents. They're not technical or exposed,
but do require careful footwork.
Distance is about 8-9
miles, but the walk is expected to take around 7 hours, so
head-torches advised.
